The book tells the story of early american Space missions starting from their roots in German war efforts which helped them when the scientists emigrated to US after world war 2 to creation of NASA.
The book is interesting has lot of new things to know about, But at times feel like reading a research paper with too man names in every paragraph.
It seems for some reason the Author couldn't bring herself to say that USSR was the first to send a man in space.

Crossing my arms tightly, I stepped out onto the dock and made my way to where Mark stood looking out over the water.
Coming back to the cabin and being around our friends after such a long absence from both had enveloped us in something like a constrictive hug. Both needing it, while desperately trying to come to terms with it.
“Hey,” I said, stepping up beside him and sighing when he pulled me into his arms.
I leaned back, turning my head slightly to fit into the crook of his neck. His cheek brushed against my hair and he asked, “Can you believe this place?”
I snorted. “No. But then again, we are talking about Jared’s parents, so…”
“True. It still feels the same here though,” he answered, watching the water ripple along the surface with the wind.
Arriving at the cabin, or what used to be the cabin, had sort of floored us all. No one knew what to say when we’d got our first glimpse of the new and improved place.
What used to be one story with a kitchen, living room, and six bedrooms with bathrooms was gone. Its replacement was two stories, ten bedrooms with full bathrooms, a massive open-floor kitchen/living room, a movie theater room, and a game room. Grant and Nadia had gone all out to make the cabin a place where all of us could live together, for an unforeseeable amount of time.
“It’s like they just knew…” I said, leaving the rest of what I was thinking unsaid. It wouldn’t do any good to dwell on the things none of us could change.
“How are you holding up with all of this?” Mark asked.
I sighed deeply and closed my eyes. “Honestly? I don’t know how to feel right now. It’s like this huge war being waged right here,” I said, poking my finger against my chest. “I’m happy to see everyone. We’re here together—just like we wanted—but for all the wrong reasons. I’m missing classes and work. I don’t know what to do with myself. My life is literally on hold at this point.”
He hugged me tighter. “Tell me what you want me to do and I’ll do it. If you want to leave, we’ll go. They can’t hold us here.”
I snorted. “Can you imagine the look on all of their faces if we just walked out with our suitcases behind us? No. I love you for that though. It’s nice to hear you’d do that to make me happy.”
He kissed the top of my head. “I’d do anything to make you happy, Paige.”

The Daughter of time scales up science fiction to such extent it looks like fantasy. The story is surreal and is in a way realistic because it is different than any other science fiction I have read.
"Reader" follows the story of Ambra Dawn a human girl who is harvested for the special powers. The under goes torment from her human and alien captors and with the help of allies human and alien is forged into the ultimate weapon.
"Writer" follows Ambra through the eyes of Nitin an Indian soldier and Ambra's lover many years after the events of Reader. Together along with a crew they travel across space to understand a new enemy and ultimately Ambra makes a choice to create a weapon to destroy the enemies.
"Maker" follows Waythrel the Xix who was Ambra's advisor for years across space and time with Klone, the girl who makes brief appearance in "Writer" from creation to destruction of universe clashing with gods of the universe in repeated loops to save the universe.
The books are very vivid the bizarre nature of the alien make the world interesting.The alien life seem to be created on premise the human perception is limited when it comes to what is possible in the universe.

Ice country is told from point of view of Dazz, a 17 year old from Icy country.The Ice country is different than fire country in that it is a city ruled by king with established governing bodies. Dazz spends his time Gambling,Skying and frequently getting into fights due to his short temper.
The story begins with a bad break up followed by a bar fight which sets a chain of events that cause Dazz to find himself working for King Goff with no way out.When his sister is abducted and he learn of the secret agreement with the heaters he tries to find the truth behind the kidnapping.He meets a group of heaters in the way.
The the timeline of the story begin around the middle of events in Fire Country and continue afterwards. The world in Ice Country is highly detailed but is very different from Fire country.The contrast in language used in the novel to drive the narration. With Dazz being sarcastic there are plenty of funny quips throughout the novel.The story doesn't lose pace throughout the novel.Also thought "Ice Country" is the successor of Fire Country" it has a interdependent story with its own world.
One negative I found with the book was the romance looked out of place in parts of the novel but does n't slow down the story.
Any one who liked "Fire country" will definitely like "Ice Country".It is recommended for those who like dystopian story with detailed world building.

Fire country is a sister series of Dweller series It takes place above the earth's surface In the same world as the tri-realms.The world is almost inhabitable with the air becoming toxic.The life expectancy of people is around 30 years and the world's resources are very very limited.The people adopted the world with a tight society with very strict rules that intends to ensure the survival of the tribe.The world is very different from the tri-realms where the world is strictly controlled by an overlord ,the main character Siena is very different from Adele she is brave but is a normal person not liking how things are done and wanting change.
The world building is very great,the language used in book is highly detailed,the words are related to hot climate.I liked the story and the narration.Only negative I found with the book was the climax felt rushed.
The book is for anyone who like dystopian novel with attention to detail.

The Adventure of Creation

The Adventure of creation is one of the few anthologies I have read.The stories belong to a wide spectrum of genres from fantasy to science fiction to real world.And the stories are very different form each other there are stories laced with humor as well stories with dark undertone.
The stories are fresh and are neatly created but I felt some stories lack detail and depth in narration.
I will list some of my favorite stories from the anthology.
After the fire:
The story follows the interaction between a girl and a fallen angel in a world torn by war between humans and the fallen angels.
My soul to take:
A reluctant Magi tries to save the world from casting from dreamworld.
The story is laced with humor and has makings of a future novel.
Definition of superhero:
When a bank is robbed by super villains a bookstore owner becomes super hero to save the day.I liked the writing style of the story very much.

I liked the story of "Shadow of Blood moon" minus the romance part I still couldn't like the love triangle.Gen is flawed but in some ways that make the book distinct she is brave but doesn't know her limits or the consequence of her actions ,quick tempered and not the smartest of the group but manages to patch tings up and leads the team in their quest to save her mother.
There are some serious twists and a special new character that was unexpected,Over all the story is quite entertaining.
The story follows Gen as she and William come the Prague to find her mother. the quest descends into chaos the very day they set foot in Prague. She tries to find her mother and survive Prague with help of the usual gang and a hand-full of new characters.
I wish to read the next book for the story of the princess and clan wars rather than the love triangle.

The story of "Ties to the blood moon" is interesting and held by attention till the end.The concept of werewolf/vampire hybrid is interesting.But I couldn't relate with Gen's love with William and Joseph.The story-line has lot of similarities to Twilight.And there is a twist in the end that I didn't see coming.
The story of "Tie to the blood moon" follows Gen as she moves to her Aunt's home in Alaska after the death of her mother.There she makes new friends and after some events gets entangled in local myths and realize she is an werewolf princess who is supposed to unite the different clans which are at war.As the story progress she find that her mother is alive and makes a quest to claim the throne and save her mother.
A lot of things are left unexplained like how she gets visions when she touch things,

I received this book for free from the author in exchange for honest review.
A Beastly scandal is a romance/paranormal crime mystery based on Beauty and the Beast. The beauty is Lady Annabelle Marchant who has the ability to communicate with the dead an try to help them attain peace.The beast is Lord Rufus Marlesbury, the Earl of Terrance called 'Lord Terror' behind his back.He is a beast not in his looks but due to his short temper.He doesn't believe in ghosts and thinks belle is either a fraud or ignorant.
They are both set in course of murder investigation of murder of Rufus's father,each for their own reason Rufus to clear his name and Belle to clean the house of the ghost.When they cross each other sparks fly leading to a story filled with romance,humour,action and suspense.The novel has lot of interesting supporting characters that are perfectly with attractive personalities created to make the story interesting.Particularly the dog ernest is a main character in the story.
The novel is very well written and never slows down or lags in story.But the culprit is very strongly hinted early in the book and it makes it easier to guess the murderer before it is revealed.

The unseen Country is a fantasy filled with wild imagination for children.It is filled with mythical characters of various kind and most of the story takes place in another dimension filled with magic.
The story has an ensemble of characters and moves simultaneously in multiple directions mainly it follows Tom a human with ability to see the faeries and Flynn an elf who cant fly.they stumble into a conspiracy to upset the balance between good and evil each while on different mission Tom searching for his missing brother and Flynn looking for his master.With the help of Flynn's friends and many other powerful characters they take the adventure to save the world.
The story is interesting and keeps interest till end.There are lots of different characters all of them are well written.

I have always been curious of how a vampire novel set in India will be.I read the book with high expectations and I am not disappointed.The narration is really amazing and it evolves throughout the book.The book begins with Anu an experienced Vampire Slayer who has moved from New York to Delhi in search of the Vampire who killed her boyfriend struggling to adjust to the changes especially the situation with vampires, Delhi is relatively peaceful in the vampire front and her usual methods doesn't seem to work ,when is try to adjust to everything she stumbles into a serial killing that lead her into Tantra which is Indian Black magic.What follows is how she stops the evil.The story is action packed and is very unique in the concepts it covers,It is filled with action but has quite a few funny scenes.The story is based on many concepts of Hindu mythology and yoga ,I felt the author has not explained some concepts and those who do not know them may miss some connections.
The story is quite entertaining and memorable.Though the book does not end with the standard Cliffhanger it does leave some threads open.I surely looking forward for the next book in the series.

"Eyes Ever to the Sky" is a paranormal romance blended with a fast paced mystery.The story follows Cece who has to take care of herself and her mother because of her mother's illness and Hugh a mysterious stranger who wakes up in the middle of a crater with no memory of who he is.The first few chapters of the novel are quite dark as both the main characters struggle to set their life straight.soon their path cross and they form a strong bond.Though the love is shown to have grown is very short time it is quite convincing and forms the core of the story.
Soon the beast that Hugh saw on the day he woke up sets on killing spree ,he tries to find his identity and the reason for why everything happened.The second half of the novel is page turning kept me hooked to it.Slowly the secrets are revealed as the story progresses with some spectacular action sequences.

One of the most touching books that I ever read.Throughout the book leonard talks about some serious issues like moral dilemma,bullying,discrimination, life and death but it is coated with a bit of humour which make them easier to take on.
The story begins on leonards 18th birthday when he deceides to kill his former best friend Asher and then kill himself.He wants to give parting gifts to four important people in his life.so he packs their gifts and his grandfather's gun and leave for school.
Throughout the day as he meets the people and delivers the gifts he remembers his connection with those people ,with Asher and what led him to this moments.
All the characters and situations in the story are well written.Leonard is smart and observant but is broken he see things that others overlook.He has a very good imagination.
I liked the letters from the future which is set in a world filled with water where leonard is manning a lighthouse which hasn't got human contact for months.

Map of time

The novel is written as three interconnected stories. Though the stories are set in same world they are very deferent from each other. Each story Has so many sub plot some of which connected some of them not, many of them captivating imagination and make reading enjoyable.
The map of time is a work of great storytelling. It blends genres and can appeal to fans of science fiction and mystery. I liked the book for the way the author mixes what is real and what is lie and let you keep guessing .
